If you're experiencing any issues such as unresponsiveness, app freezing, or screen lagging while setting up the zone, there could be one or both of these issues:
1. Certain Android models may have performance issues during zone setup
If your OtO app is crashing while setting up a zone, you may be running into a known issue with some less common Android models, specifically the Motorola - Moto G and AT&T Radiant Core phones. Please note that this issue is only related to the zone setup process, and once your zone is setup, any phone should work perfectly fine with the app.
We're currently working on resolving this for our users, however here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Try using an alternate device: If you have access to another Android device (such as a Pixel or Samsung) or an iPhone, try setting up your zone using that device instead. This may help you avoid the issue altogether. Keep in mind that this issue is only related to the zone setup process, and once your zone is setup, any phone should work perfectly fine with the app.
Restart your phone: Sometimes a simple restart can help clear up any issues your phone may be experiencing.
2. You have too many points in your zone
The max number of points you can have in a zone depend on the performance of your phone. You shouldn't need too many points to get a sufficiently accurate zone. Read more about zone setup here.
