Conflicting schedules means that at some point in the future, these events will overlap. Keep reading to learn more.
You may notice some schedules have a Conflicting tag, which means at some point in the future, these events will overlap at the same date and time.
What's the difference between the "new" scheduling system and the "old" one?
In app version 4.0.0. (June 2026), we released a new scheduling system for all OtO users. In the original OtO scheduling system, each individual zone had it's own schedule that was independent of all other zones and devices. This meant that sometimes two devices would run at the same time as each other (causing water pressure issues).
In the new scheduling system, users can simply create "Schedule" groups:
- The user defines the start time of this Schedule
- User adds all the zones they would like to run as part of this schedule
- Schedule will run each zone individually and sequentially, regardless of which device the zone is part of

What causes Conflicting Schedules?
If a Schedule will overlap at any point in time with a future Schedule, the app will provide a soft "Conflicting" tag.
For example, a user has 1 OtO:
- Schedule A is set to run every 5 days at 6am
- Schedule B is set to run every odd day at 6am
- Since both Schedule A and Schedule B will eventually try to run at the same time, you will see a Conflicting tag on the Schedule page
What will happen?
This conflict may cause some zones not to run.
To prevent this conflict, you can:
Choose a different time for one of the schedules.
How to prevent conflicting schedules
- Make sure schedules don't run at the same time on the same day
- Make sure times do not overlap
- i.e. If Schedule A runs at 6am for 1 hour, and Schedule B runs at 6:30, this will cause a conflict
What if I WANT to run two OtOs at the same time?
The new scheduling experience is designed to help prevent watering overlap across devices.
When multiple OtOs water at the same time, some homes may not have enough water pressure to support both devices at once. This can cause zones to water poorly, stop early, or not run as expected.
By organizing watering into a centralized schedule, OtO can help ensure your zones run in a more reliable order.
If you would like to continue to have multiple OtOs run at the same time: Make sure each OtO is in different schedules. Ignore the soft warning "Conflicting" in the app.
