About the New Scheduling System (June 2026)

As of June 2026, we've redesigned how watering schedules work in the OtO app. Your watering didn't stop, and you don't need to set anything up again. Your zones, durations, days, and weather preferences were all carried over automatically.

Before, every zone needed its own schedule. Now, one schedule can water several zones one by one, starting at a single time.

Note: Zones from different OtOs can share a schedule. So a Front yard zone (on one OtO) and a Back yard zone (on another) can both run under the same schedule.

What's new

Everything in one place — Instead of managing each zone's schedule separately, all your zones, durations, days, and timing live in a single schedule view.

Interval scheduling — Water every few days instead of picking specific days of the week.

Custom zone ordering — Drag and drop your zones into the order you want them to water, instead of being locked into the default sequence.

What happened to my existing events?

We have automatically migrated users over to the new system.

All of your existing zone events should be automatically moved to a single schedule (in most cases)

In some cases, you may have more than one schedule.

How to view and edit your schedules:

  1. Go to the Events tab - Check if all your upcoming events make sense

  2. Go to "All schedules" - Check if all your schedules make sense

FAQs

Why did the scheduling system change?
As OtO users added more zones and multiple OtO devices, the old zone-based system made it harder to see when everything would actually run. The new experience gives you a complete view of your watering plan in one place, with added features like interval scheduling, custom zone ordering, and easier pause controls.

Whether you prefer "set it and forget it" or fine-tuning every detail, the new system supports both.

Why can't two OtO devices water at the same time anymore?
When multiple OtOs run simultaneously, some homes don't have enough water pressure to support both. This can cause zones to water poorly or stop early. The new system schedules devices sequentially to avoid this.

If you'd like your devices to run at the same time, place them in separate schedules. The app will show a soft warning if the schedules overlap. To learn more about conflicting schedules, see What are conflicting schedules?

Can I go back to the old system?
No, the new scheduling experience replaces the previous system permanently. Everything you could do before is still possible. If you need help adjusting your schedule, reach out to us at care@otolawn.com.

Will my zones still water for the same amount of time?
Yes. Your zone durations haven't changed unless you manually adjust them. The main difference is how your schedule is organized and displayed.

How do I see when my zones will water?
Go to the Events page in the OtO app. It shows exactly when each zone is scheduled to run.
