With the new scheduling system (July 2026), the way multiple OtO devices water together has changed. This article explains how it works now, for both scheduled and manual watering.
Scheduled watering
We recommend watering one OtO at a time. Zones from different OtOs can share a single schedule, and they'll water one after the other in the order you choose. This is the most reliable setup as some homes don't have enough water pressure to run two OtOs at once, which can cause zones to water poorly or stop early.
That said, if you'd like your OtOs to run at the same time, you can:
1. Create a separate schedule for each OtO.
2. Add only that OtO's zones to its schedule. For example, all zones from your first OtO go under one schedule, all zones from your second OtO under another, and so on.
3. Set the schedules to the start times you want.
Here's what that looks like:
You'll see a "Conflicting" badge on these schedules, that's expected. You can safely ignore it. As long as each schedule contains zones from only one OtO, both schedules will run at their start times.
When a conflict actually matters
A conflict only causes a problem when a single OtO has zones split across two overlapping schedules. Because one OtO can only water one of its own zones at a time, some of those zones may not run. You can learn more here: What are conflicting schedules?
Manual watering
Manual watering works through the Water on Demand feature, which waters your zones one by one in the order you choose.
A few things to keep in mind:
- You can only manually water one OtO at a time. Zones from two OtOs can't run manually at the same time.
- Starting a new zone stops the current one. If a zone is watering and you start another, the first zone will stop and the new one will begin right away. Zones can no longer be queued up to run after the current one finishes.
We hear you
We know this is a change from how your OtOs used to work, and we've heard from many of you about it.
Generally, we still recommend not running multiple OtOs at the same time, since it can cause zones not to finish due to limited water pressure.
That said, quite a few of you have asked us to bring back the ability to run multiple devices at once, and we hear you. We're actively working on restoring that.
