As of July 2026, we've redesigned how watering schedules work in the OtO app. Your watering didn't stop, and you don't need to set anything up again. Your zones, durations, days, and weather preferences were all carried over automatically.
Note: Zones from different OtOs can share a schedule. So a Front yard zone (on one OtO) and a Back yard zone (on another) can both run under the same schedule.
What's new
Everything in one place — Instead of managing each zone's schedule separately, all your zones, durations, days, and timing live in a single schedule view.
Interval scheduling — Water every few days instead of picking specific days of the week.
Custom zone ordering — Drag and drop your zones into the order you want them to water, instead of being locked into the default sequence.
What happened to my existing events?
When you updated, we automatically moved your existing zone schedules into the new scheduling system. You don't need to do anything. Your zones should continue watering within 10 minutes of their usual time. That said, we recommend taking a few minutes to review your schedules.
How to view and edit your schedules
- Go to Events tab from the bottom menu. Here you can see exactly when each zone will run, as well as which schedule the zone is part of.
-
In the upper right corner, go to Schedules to view all of your schedules. Click on a schedule to edit the start time, zones, weather intelligence settings, rename it, or to enable or disable the schedule.
-
Migration Tips:
- Conflicting schedules mean that two or more schedules overlap in the future. Meaning that some zones may not run at some point in the future. Read more here: What are conflicting schedules?
- Having less schedules is easier to manage. If your OtOs were part of the automatic migration and you have too many schedules, we recommend deleting them and creating new schedules from scratch.

FAQs
Why did the scheduling system change?
As OtO users added more zones and multiple OtO devices, the old zone-based system made it harder to see when everything would actually run. The new experience gives you a complete view of your watering plan in one place, with added features like interval scheduling, custom zone ordering, and easier pause controls.
Whether you prefer "set it and forget it" or fine-tuning every detail, the new system supports both.
Why can't two OtO devices water at the same time anymore?
When multiple OtOs run simultaneously, some homes don't have enough water pressure to support both. This can cause zones to water poorly or stop early. The new system schedules devices sequentially to avoid this.
If you'd like your devices to run at the same time, place them in separate schedules. The app will show a soft warning if the schedules overlap. To learn more about conflicting schedules, see What are conflicting schedules?
Can I go back to the old system?
No, the new scheduling experience replaces the previous system permanently. Everything you could do before is still possible. If you need help adjusting your schedule, reach out to us at care@otolawn.com.
Will my zones still water for the same amount of time?
Yes. Your zone durations haven't changed unless you manually adjust them. The main difference is how your schedule is organized and displayed.
How do I see when my zones will water?
Go to the Events page in the OtO app. It shows exactly when each zone is scheduled to run.
What happens when I create a new zone?
New zones don't water automatically on their own. You must add any new zone to a new or existing schedule in order for it to run automatically.

When do we expect the update being available?
Thanks for asking! We're slowly rolling this update out. New accounts already have the update, and we'll be migrating existing accounts over the next several weeks.
With the new scheduling change, I can no longer manually start watering on one device when another device is running - it reports it as a 'conflict'. Will this be fixed in the future?
Hey Brad! Thanks for your feedback.
Generally, we recommend not running multiple OtOs at the same time, since it can cause zones not to finish due to limited water pressure.
That said, quite a few of you have asked us to bring back the ability to run multiple devices at once, and we hear you. We're actively working on restoring that. You can expect to have it back within the next week or so.
Hold tight!
